Martin Luther King, Jr.

Detroit Public Schools in the Community District were closed Monday, January 15, 2018 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday, which is honored in recognition of his dedication and important contributions to the Civil Rights Movement. This day celebrates the achievements and continued struggles for equality for all minorities in and outside of the United States. May the memory of what has come before never die, and the fight for justice and equality soon be at an end.
